Low Latency Java

Orange County Java User Group (OCJUG)

Note the change in date and location! We are meeting a day earlier than normal, and again at PeopleSpace. Many thanks to Melinda Kim; please check them out for your coworking needs and their many events.

In October, we’re lucky to have Matt Schuetze from Azul Systems flying down to talk to us about high performance Java development and enabling low latency. If you have any interest in topics like high scalability and throughput (“internet scale,” real time systems, IoT, HFT, etc.) this will be a great talk to see. Azul is a global authority on the JVM and last time they spoke it was a packed room.

Schedule:

6:30 Networking
7:00 Presentation begins
8:30 Presentation over, off-site networking begins

As usual, after the meeting we will head to El Torito Grill (map) for dinner, drinks, and more networking and discussion.

Hope to see you there!

Abstract:
Enabling Java in Latency Sensitive Environments examines the core issues that have historically kept Java from performing well in low latency environments and then offers solutions without trade-offs and compromises.

Learn about running at scale, how to keep ‘all systems go’, and how to make your on-call support team very bored.
